D.I.Y. DAY

Nevins Photo. Earlier this week.

Yo! It's flat and cold out! I liked it better when it felt like spring was here. I knew it was to good to be true... But it is what it is and we have some nice sunny days on the way and hopefully a fun little ground swell for Monday and Tuesday??? I forgot to mention that the Pioneers soccer team ripped it up at Wednesday putting us a 3 and 0 for the session thus far. The team has worked out a lot of the kinks and we are finally moving the ball with some skill, stoked!

The Volcom Pipeline Pro kicked off yesterday in some pumping surf. The live webcast kept me entertained for most of the day. There were definitely some bombs coming through and solid rides being had. The forecast for today looks really good. The call is at 7:30 Hawaii time but looking at the forecast I think it's a sure thing. Check it HERE a little later to catch all the action. The video below is all the highlights from yesterdays competition. Check it!

Tons of new DC gear showed up at the shop in the past few days. New tees, hoodies, button down, and shoes are on tap. Good style and good color in everything! Come grab one and represent!

Working at the shop I get to see a lot of cool stuff. My favorite thing to see is when someone brings in something they built. Something they took the time to create. A true do it yourself (DIY) project. Over the years I have seen lots of longboard decks, skimboards, and surfboards custom fabricated by a customer. I even seen some weird roller skates made with skateboard trucks and wheels and snowboard bindings. In the past week I have had two friends cruise in one with pics of their new surfboard and another with a finished surfboard. Both boards a built with wood and have a true beauty to them. The pictures below are from our buddy Scott's work in progress. The other board I have seen is beautiful and I have pics on Steve's camera but Steve isn't here and neither is his camera so I will post those asap. Check the photos below and get inspired, get weird, and go create something. Inspiration HERE and HERE.

Enjoy the weekend and we will see you in the water on Monday!

NH Pride Hurt... But at least we got surf!

Good morning gang. (If you haven't surfed yet and have nothing to do stop reading this right now and go get some waves.) So I woke up this morning expecting some nice thigh high peelers but when I got to the beach I was surprised to see chest high sets! Luckily for me I had the 7'4 Feather Fastback (thanks again Ricker) in the back seat and used it to get some killer waves. My girlfriend and I had a great little session at Jenness Beach this morning. We each scored a ton of waves and saw a whole bunch of smiling, familiar faces scoring some fun ones too. The wind is currently light offshore and the buoys are at 4 and a half feet at 11 seconds... Go get some!
I also have some bummer news this morning, something that you're not going to be to excited about. I am sad to report that Mt. Washington no longer holds the world record for the highest recorded wind gust. The honor now belongs to a small island off the coast of Australia. The wind gust of 253 1/2 MPH was official recognized as fact just recently and beat out the 1934 wind record that Mt. Washington held for 76 years. Read the full article HERE. First we lost the Old Man on the Mountain, now the wind speed record, the only thing left for to lose is the "live free or die" quote from our license plates. Stay strong NH and remember even if it all goes south, we are the number 2 state in the country for beer consumption. If we lose "live free of die" we are guaranteed to be number one at beer consumption once everyone hits the bottle to dull the pain.

Surfer has posted a bunch of old photos from the monthly Extra Extra! page. There are some really funny/classic one in here. Backside floater, Spearheading the arial revolution, so funny cruise through the best of section HERE.

Last but not least DC just made Matt Miller's full length part from the DC Skateboarding Is Forever film Public. Enjoy.

SURF, SURF, SURF!!!!

A beautiful morning filled with great waves and good friends. Does it get any better? I am sure it does but I am happy with what I got! So who else got some? I saw lots of folks getting waves this morning and even more cruising along the beach looking for the perfect spot to paddle out at. I saw Buck had posted an update on facebook that read "waves at home today, I reckon I'm the sacrafice..." to which I replied "Yup..." So while Bucks out in Denver missing all this swell don't forget to get two waves for him. One to thank him for leaving and one to tell him about when he gets home.

Here at Pioneers we love our Ripcurl and O'neill wetsuits. I just saw the update that Bobby Martinez just signed a major deal with O'neill wetsuits and I am stoked. Bobby is a goofy footer like me and has always been a favorite of mine. He finished the Dream Tour this year in the 8th spot. Stoked for Bobby's good year and wise choice in rubber.

Just got the word that Lost has updated their wbesite and has posted all of the boards available for 2010. Check it out HERE. We are still taking custom orders so if you see something you like let us know and we'll get it on the list. Ride a Lost and ride the best...

Nike Don't fear the Sweeper.... Check it HERE.

Waves look awesome and should be awesome all day seriously go get some!

New Volcom HERE waves HERE tomorrow.

Seven A.M. Tomorrow

Good Morning Crew!!! Wind is a blowin' and the waves are a risin'. It feels good to be back in a pattern that has some weekly systems moving through. We are looking at some heavy rain and some strong winds out of the south up until midnight. After midnight winds will go more westerly cleaning up the swell for tomorrow morning. The early morning west wind will be steady but definitely should give us some fun conditions. I'm stoked and can't wait to get a good session in.
We got a bunch of gear in from Volcom today. New tees, hats, belts, and shorts. The tee below maybe one of the best tees Volcom has ever done. We have already sold a couple and we are trying to get more. This is a must have, SLASH DOG!!! And while we are on the subject of Slash Dogs my 11 week old Husky, Piper, got her first introduction to skateboarding at Rye Airfield last night. She was a little nervous at first with all the loud noises but by the end of our hour session she was charging around the cement bowl area wanting to get on my skateboard. So stoked for the future with her, she may not love the water but she will love the skatepark!

I also found this video on the boob tube with Pioneers team ripper Nolan Monroe. We hype him all the time because he can skate, REALLY WELL. However, you tend to see him skating mainly transition. Well this little video has Nolan goofing around on some rails and hips dropping lots of flip tricks and grinds. He does skate some concrete for a little bit and of course he kills that too. There is also a short video below of two Pioneers affiliates John Millstien and Chris Wells shot and edited by another Pioneers affiliate Brian Sullivan. G-BOYS for life, now you KNOW!!!

Couldn't find the G-Boys video but HERE is the link to the Facebook video. Check it!

Lei day at Pipe called yesterday. Next call should be coming pretty soon. Check the status HERE. If your wondering what competitors do on lei days they go and make big drops.

Surf tomorrow, we'll see you in the water.

Volcom Pipeline Pro

Good morning crew! How is everybody feeling today? I'm feeling good, saw a great sunrise this morning as I cruised around with the pup checking out the wave situation. There is definitely a little bump lapping on our shore. Steve got a session in and came in with a huge grin on his face. There is potential for the waves to get a little bigger and cleaner as the day goes on. Keep an eye on it because I think there will be some fun LB waves later on this afternoon.

Steve and I are stoked to get our live webcast fix filled as the Volcom Pipeline Pro waiting period starts today. This should be an awesome contest as there are over 110 competitors from 13 different countries ready to rock as soon as the waves are. Check the trailer below and check the Pipeline Blog HERE for lots of little videos and weirdness...

I also found this article on the Surfers Village that has the topic of surfer etiquette in the courtroom. A basic summary of what I read is as follows: Crowe catches a wave and begins to shred while Adams paddles out to the lineup trough the impact zone right in front of Crowe. Crowe collides with Adams. Crowe says no worries just pay for the repairs to which Adams replies "suck it". Instead of fighting Crowe took Adams to court and the judge decided that while etiquette is not law, Adams acted improperly. Adams was ordered to pay $750 for a new board plus the $90 court fee. I found this interesting... You can read the full article HERE. On the one hand it like one big middle finger to everyone who has gotten in your way and screwed up that perfect wave. On the other hand we have all been that guy or gal in the wrong spot at some point. So I agree not to sue any of you if you agree not to sue me. Do we have a deal???

Waves later and waves early this week. Skate sessions always!

NORA!!!!!

Yo Gang!!!! Little waves this morning, any one get any? I went for a drive looking for a waist high peak but I couldn't find one so I took the puppy for a nice long beach walk instead. But there were waves, definitely longboard-able if you had the drive to get wet. Steve just said that the past four days could be the best best four day run of surf we get all year. He factored wind, swell direction, swell size, and consistency into his decision and used the word "unbelievable" to sum it all up. While I do agree that the surf was unreal and the best of 2010, I hope mother nature has a few more storms like this past on that will challenge Stevie's claim.

I had a great session at the Rye Airfield last night. Got to skate with some of the young guns and work on my mini shred. Maybe another session tonight, any takers? We got a few used snowboard packages in recently. One is a Burton Canyon with like new burton Mission bindings and the second is a Santa Cruz with Burton Missions. Both are 157cm, both have large bindings, and both are a steal at $250. Come score a $600 dollar package for pennies on the dollar and we'll go shred! We also have a handful of used boots and we'll do our best to get you stoked for the remainder of the shredding season.

The first time I met Nora Vasconcellos I was at Rye Airfield having a fun session skating the wooden bowl. I was skating pretty good, hitting some frontside five os through the corners and some nice back smiths. After a run I noticed this girl with a pink helmet hanging on deck observing the session. I was super stoked to see a girl joining the session. Nothing against the ladies but most of the time when you encounter a girl at the skatepark they kinda just cruise around and chill. When this girl finally put her board on the coping and dropped in my jaw dropped too. THIS GIRL COULD SKATE!!! She put me and every other guy who HAD BEEN skating in our places, at the bottom of the pecking order with her on the top. Over the past year or so I have gotten to know Nora a little better. She is 100% genuine, a total sweet heart, and a total ripper.

Since my first experience with Nora I have seen it happen time and time again. Here is how it goes, a bunch of guys will be skating the mini ramp having a session. Nora will role up and no one will know her. Everyone sees the pink helmet and figures she can't really skate. Everyone encourages her to drop in, she does, and blows their minds. Everyone just watches, feels dumb after her run, and then goes and skates something else. I have come to terms with the fact the Nora skates better then I ever will and now that I can accept that fact she is one of my favorite people to skate with.

Nora Vasconcellos, remember that name, she will be a dominant force in women's skateboarding...

And watch out in the line up because she can surf too!

Waves tomorrow Afternoon????? Keep an eye on it!

Happenings...

Well I had another great session this morning. I rode a borrowed board from my buddy Mike Ricker. It is a Dewey Weber 7'4 Feather Fastback. It's two tone green with a big single fin. It is an amazing board and turns slow mushy waves into so much fun. I was so pumped out there this morning surfing by myself and soul arching every drop! I hope there are some little leftover waves in the morning I want to get another session on the Fastback!!!

The Lady Banana

So now lets talk about shop happenings! First off just want to shout out to our friends Erica and Hunter who both came in this morning and picked up new complete snowboard packages. Erica got an awesome Roxy Envi Banana (aka the lady banana) with a one of a kind original sticker job by yours truly and Hunter picked up a killer burton package. I hope we get the chance to go shred with both of you soon.

This Saturday at 10pm you have to be downstairs at the Muddy River in Portsmouth for the YOU GOT TO GET THAT video premier. It features our own local favorite Dan Murphy with a full cast of others like Bobby Worrest and Gilbert Crockett. Come out and SUPPORT SKATEBOARDING! Check the above flyer for more details and the trailer below...

I blogged about the Molly Benefit Hockey game the other day but failed to mention the fact that we have tickets at the shop for sale. Ten dollars each, come get them while they last. Looks like the extended forecast has some good news for us. Little system producing some small waves for Saturday and then another good system for the beginning of next week.

Enjoy the day and go get some waves, it still looks fun!

Snow & Surf

SURF SURF SURF SNOW SNOW SNOW... I had a couple of fun sessions this morning. I also had a great surf session yesterday afternoon and super fun time up at Gunstock last night. The snow at the mtn. was so good, they got about a foot of fresh over the past few days. I spent most of my time hunting out little untouched patch of powder and slashing them to pieces. The snowboard park was in poor shape because of all the fresh snow but I can see some real potential for it on a nice sunny day. They have a fun jump line and a handful of rails and boxes. I think this 2 for Tuesday nights at gunstock may become tradition so get on it and come shred with the gang.
We see alot of hype on up and coming male surfers daily. Names like the Gudaskas, Andino, and Wright. What you don't see alot of is hype on up and coming female surfers. I found a short but sweet interview with 19 year old Lee Ann Curren. Lee Ann qualified for the women's professional tour and she is also the daughter of surf legend Tom Curren. It will be awesome to see how Lee Ann does in competition this year. She has it in her blood to be a world champion I wonder if she can pull it off. Check the full article HERE.

Hopefully we'll have some fun longboard waves tomorrow morning so check it early. We also started a facebook page where we'll be posting lit bits of info, sales, and events. Look us up and lets dangle on the web together. Find us at Pioneers Board Shop on Facebook HERE. Enjoy the rest of your day and we'll see you in the water tomorrow.

Surf Returns!!!

Good afternoon surf crew. Well our two week flat spell is over. Right now we have some head high plus surf rolling through. The winds are blowing hard out of the north which is making things pretty messy. There are some spots that will be slightly protected from the wind so I suggest getting out there and having a look around. Tomorrow and Wednesday both look promising for some fun surf so get ready to get some!

We also have to talk about the nice blanket of snow we got last night. I know I was hoping for a little more but it is what it is and at least we got some. I just check the Gunstock snow report and they have 4 to 6 inches of fresh and they are still expecting a few more inches throughout the day. Tomorrow night Gunstock runs a special that is two people ride for $25 dollars. As of right now I know of probably a dozen people who are planning to head up and shred, so meet us up there and lets make some turns. This deal is every Tuesday night, and I think it may become a regular thing for us here. I believe the deal starts at 5 pm, come share the stoke!

The custom orders for the Plank continue to roll in. NH is going Plank crazy!!! I figured today I would introduce another of the new Lost models. Today we are going to talk about The Motivator. The Motivator is a small wave board. This board is based on the super popular Rocket model. To create this board Matt Biolis started with a Rocket outline and added some width to the nose and tail to create a longer rail to add drive in small surf. Then he added a little thickness in the nose and tail to increase float without increasing the boards overall thickness. He also lowered the stringer rocker but kept the Rocket's rail rocker to add speed while paddling but still giving it the ability to do tight radius turns while on rail. The final step in creating the Motivator was to add a step rail to the last 6 inches of the tail. This gives the board some bight and the ability to do "real" turns in small surf.

The board come stock with 5 fin boxes so you can ride it as a quad, thruster, or twin. I fell in love with the idea of this board at first sight. I custom ordered a 5'10 in XTR epoxy. The stock dimensions on a 6'0 would be 20.5 by 2.5. The idea behind this board is to motivate you to surf those small mushy days. I can't wait, my board is already motivating me! We have some poly boards on our March/April order and probably some XTRs soon after. If you have any questions on the Motivator or any other Lost board you know where to find us.

MLK Winter Suit Special!!!!!!!

SURF IS ON THE WAY!!!! Our two week flat spell is almost over!!! In celebration of that fact and of MLK Day we are hooking all of our valued customers up with this years O'neill Psycho II 6/5/4 winter suit at 20% off. That brings the total of this $440 dollar suit down to a killer $350. This Deal is for MLK Day only on instock inventory, so don't snooze on this one. I wore this suit all last winter and give you my word that it kept me warm and flexible on the coldest of days. Swing in and try one on. You'll be stoked surfing 4 days of fun waves in some new rubber!

NH is going Plank Crazy!!!

"Dude! You have to have one. It's like a longboard? Right???" The orders keep coming in, this one is for our buddy John. His quote above pretty much sums it up, you have to have one!

It is beautiful out it reminds me of spring... to bad thats 3 months away. Enjoy the day and go out and get some!

Found this somewhere, it's so stupid I thought it was a joke. It's not, this movie is actually coming to theaters soon. Waste a minute and a half and I think you'll agree with me...

Black Pearl

I found this video on Transworld Skateboarding of Sk8 Mafia and Creature ripping up The Black Pearl in the Cayman Islands. The park looks like a blast and after a week of no surf and cold temps how nice would a skate mission tot the Caribbean be. I know there is surf in the Caribbean but wasn't sure about the Cayman Island but according to Surfer there is potential. The worst thing about going on a surf trip is getting skunked... but with the Black Pearl right around the corner, who cares if it's flat, go skate. I am not planning on going here anytime soon but this little mission is on my radar and a perfect thought for daydreaming about.

Live web entertainment for your viewing pleasure today.

Surf early next week if all goes according to plan. Two week flat spell OVER!!!

Shredtastic!!!!!

Ankle high perfection at Sunrise! Brian Nevins

Snowboarding is SO MUCH FUN!!! I had a great morning session up at Gunstock with our good buddy Dean. My Skate Banana was shredtastic and Dean is all fired up on his new Lib Tech T. Rice C2. Although it was pretty damn cold we got 2 and a half hours of fun shredding in. The park was closed for improvements but what they had up all ready looked really good. Lots of good jumps and a nice little rail set up. Gunstock is the local choice, reasonable tickets and no crowds. Hopefully I will get another shred session in next week, if anyone wants to ride let me know! So stoked on the shred!!!

So the other day I posted a quick little picture of the new Lost board called the Plank. After doing so we got a handful of calls at the shop from people looking for more info on this board. At this point we are up to three Plank custom orders and we also added 3 more Planks to our spring stock orders. So because of all the interest I thought I would tell you a little more about this board.

The Plank was inspired by a knee high day at Trestles. Matt Biolis borrow a friend's Simmons twin keel and was amazed that he could ride a board that small in surf that small. He created the Plank to avoid the use of a longboard. The Plank is very wide has parallel rails with no concave. He wanted insane glide but also wanted to be able to turn the board so he kept the rocker very flat except for in the tail where he put some healthy kick so that you can rip turns in knee high waves. He claims it is extremely fast and maneuverable in waves that normally require the use of a longboard. The standard dimensions on a 6'0 would be 22 x 2 1/2 full. So in a nutshell this board is similar to a retro fish in flaot but more like a modern shortboard in performance. Matt Biolis guarantees that you will not be disappointed with one of these boards and after being named shaper of the year I am going to trust him on this one...

Custom order your Plank now and you'll be rippping cutbacks around all the folks riding retros, fishcuts, and other breakfast sandwiches this summer. Lost... no one does it better.

Don't fear the STOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

I'm almost there... I really am. I am fighting the urge to put the winter suit on, grab a paddle, and go SUPing. I know there are a few of you out there who are thinking the same thing I am, just admit it. My buddy Matt, who lives right up the street from me, called last night to talk about how good the surf is looking in Santa Barbara. I think he is getting desperate and just wants to see what a surf forecast with surf on it looks like so he's checking forecasts all over the world. I wish that there was a river we could surf, a nice little standing wave to blast some roundhouses on. Our friend Melissa sent us over this video of style master Donavon doing that on the Montreal River wave this summer. I guess Melissa is also looking for surf inspiration elsewhere. Check it for yourself.

So local skate lord Dan Murphy has changed things up. Dan is off Mystery Skateboards and on to bigger and better things with Foundation Skateboards. We are all stoked for you Dan and can't wait for you new Part in the Nike video. Check out the official welcome on the Foundation site HERE which includes an interview and photos.

I am going to skate tonight at the park somewhere around 6 pm. Come get your shred on.
Enjoy the day!!!

Some Real Local Knowledge...

So it's flat, there's no end in site, but lets just leave that topic alone.

Today I want to talk about a local delicacy that I never new existed. What am I talking about? I'm talking about Maine shrimp or Native shrimp. These little guys live right here in the Gulf of Maine year round and the harvesting season is right now. My good buddy Kir introduced me native shrimp the other night and we had quite a feast! They are smaller than you average shrimp and usually come with the heads still on. The weird thing about these shrimp is that they are packed full of eggs or roe. They migrate towards shore in the dead of winter to have thier young and that is when they are picked up by the local fisherman. So at first glance they may not be what you're used to but believe me these little guys are worth the work. The are so tender and a lot sweeter than regular shrimp. The best part is the harvest is sustainable and you're keeping it local by eating them. I know this is a weird thing to read on a surf blog but I am stoked on Native SHRIMP. I just called Al's Seafood which is right by the shop, they're selling headless native shrimp for $3.99 a pound, go get some! I promise you'll be stoked on native shrimp too!

I also want to give a big up to NH snowboarder Chas Guldemond for his first place finish at the Grand Prix of Snowbaording at Mammoth this weekend. Seabrooks own Scotty Lago finished 7th in the halfpipe contest which keeps him in the top ten overall. With one event left Scotty needs a first place finish to have a chance to qualify for the US Olympic team. Go get em' Scotty NH is pulling for you!!!

So the Lost orders are going in... We got Stealths, Rockets, RNFQ, Scorchers, SDIIs, Motivators, and a handfull of custom orders on the list. Our good buddies Austin, Mike, and Taylor all committed to a new board as did Buck and myself. Our buddy Mike took a big step and order one or the newest and stangest models that Lost makes called The Plank. The board looks insane and I bet Mike will be ripping Straws apart on it come summer time. Thanks for the love boys!!! If you are still thinking about a custom board it's not to late, we can still attach it to our current order. I can't wait to get my new 5'10 Motivator.

Steve and I are at the shop till 6pm if you need anything...
Enjoy the Day

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Scotty Lago is hunting down an Olympic spot and you know NH has his back. Scotty's road to qualification got off to a bumpy start in Colorado but he placed 3rd at the recent Mammoth event. With two more events to go there is plenty of room for Scotty to find the podium again and we hope he does. Here are some highlights from the Mammoth event and I will keep you posted as Scotty continues the quest.

I also found this video on the Gadauskas brothers. I was stoked because I thought it was going to be 10 minutes of them shredding but its actually 10 minutes of them talking and getting their boards ready for a session. The talk about what inspires them and just some random stuff. Two of the three have qualified and will be competing on the 2010 World Surfing Tour. Big things coming from these boys

Making the Best of a Flat Situation...

Yo Gang! I am starting to get a little antsy. Haven't surfed for four days now and after checking the forecast for a glimmer of hope I got none and have realized it's true, there is no surf in sight... What to do, O what to do. Our good friend Anna decided it was time for a new snowboard. After picking out a killer package, which included a new Roxy Ally with magna-traction, she headed straight to Pat's Peak and joined their race league. She is an animal and I am sure she will dominate the circuit. I asked for some action shots and I will post them if she ever send them to me. Our good buddy Dean just picked up a new Lib Tech Travis Rice C2 Banana and he too is heading to the hills.

To ease my flat spell whoas I got a puppy. Her name is Piper and she is a siberian husky. She is super cute and a ton of work. But thanks to her I have seen the sunrise the past 4 mornings. Last night was a huge accomplishment for her, she made it through the night with out howling once. I was stoked and woke up today feeling rested. She certainly keeps me on my toes and once she gets a little bit older you'll probably be able to catch a glimpse of her roaming around the shop.

I have also seen quite a few surfers looking for that perfect tranny up at Rye. Tuesday and Wednesday nights have been the hot nights. Josh, also know as the blue JC jammer, Ry Guy, everyones favorite So Cal Bro, and the whole Crust Crew have been shredding weekly. With no end to the flat spell in sight you have to do something to keep the stoke alive!!! Grab your skate and come join the session!

On the local surf front I saw THIS article from Seacoast Online about expanding the surf zone at Long Sands in York Maine during the summer months. This has been a long time fight for many York surfers and we should all be stoked that they are tripling the size of the surf zone. Way to stay the course boys!!!

Pray for surf, go shred , go skate!!!

The Stuff Legends are Made of Son

Buck, Dean, Tom, and I are going to Bull Riding school in Lufkin, Texas the first week of April and it is going to be beyond epic. It is a man quest, a chance to do something few dare to do. Some people shake their heads (my parents), some people laugh (the lady at my doctor's office), and some people just ask "why?" (50% of everyone who I tell). But we're stoked, we got our boots, our belt buckles, and our dreams and that's almost everything we need to get-r-done.

The one thing we are lacking, the one thing that would make this trip the most epic trips of all time... A bitchin' set of wheels to turn this quest into a road trip, I give you the 1973 Ford Gran Torino 4 door sedan. Imagine that... The four of us, a pack of misfits, closet cowboys from New Hampshire driving to Texas in one of the raddest cars I have ever seen, all in the name of conquering a dream, in the name of riding a bull. Can I get a Hell Yeah?!?! Picture it, me at the wheel, the rest of the boys pounding suds, whistling at pretty girls, and getting rowdy as we tear across America. Steve found the car on craigslist that started this day dream. It made me think of a great movie about 5 friends on a mission in the mid/south west. That movie is Fandango. It's a classic. Watch the trailer below and place the four of us in that Gran Torino and you got yourself a block buster movie. (Buck will be the guy on the roof and I'll be the one driving, Dean is not a weenie, and Tom is the guy who is passed out the entire movie). Like Kevin Costner says "This is the stuff legends are made of son."

In shop news I got the new 2010 Lost Surfboard Catalog yesterday!!!! I know I have been blabbing about the new 2010 boards that are coming out but after seeing the catalog there are so many new boards it is just plain crazy. In addition to the Motivator, the Blunt, and the Scorcher they now have the Plank, the Rock Up, the Squash-it, the Stealth Pro, the Impala, and the F1 Stub. They really have something for everyone and I can't wait to get all these boards in the shop. Here is a glimpse of some of the catalog. Lost is on it this year, you have to ride one to understand.

Enjoy the day and I will talk in detail about some more of these boards as the weeks roll on.

It's Flat, Time to Shred!!!

Good afternoon crew! Surf this weekend was fun, the skate sessions were heavy, and the snow at the mountain was fresh! Who got some??? I got some fun surf and I talked to lots of people who went north and said conditions are real good up in the great white north. I can't wait to get out and make those first turns of the year!!! Maybe this week. In surf new it was fun the past few day but the surf forecast for the upcoming week is probably going to be a downer The call for the next 7 days is knee high to flat... but on the bright side the winds gonna be off shore. So it's time to head to the skate park or to the mountains. Fill the void and keep the stoke ALIVE!!!

Adidas just launched an all new site and there is some awesome words, photos, and video from Pioneers shop rider Dave Bachinsky. Check it all out HERE. Videos from China, Mexico, San Fransico, and some insight into the mind of the man some call the "Big Bachinsky".

I just found the typical, once a year article in the local paper all about surfing in the winter. "Isn't it cold???... You know what I am talking about and you know you're going to see at least one of these pieces and a little news coverage, which we also got this weekend, so embrace it just like Chuck Buckets did from Naragganset RI. What a great name, I was laughing so hard when I read that, I wonder who it was. Come fourth Chuck Buckets, and forever be known. Check the article out HERE.

After trolling around on some local Snow Resort websites thinks are looking interesting. There is new Laps w/ Luke up on Watervilles page along with some plans for some park upgrades. Check Waterville HERE. Gunstock's park is officially open and it's looking fun. If jumps and rails aren't your thing the the groomers are looking prime also. Check Gunstock HERE. Loon, Sunday River, Sunapee, and all the rest look great. I am thinking about trying to organize a monthly snowboard expedition, I will keep everyone posted when I get some more info!

Enjoy the Day, I am at the shop till six if you need anything! Stay Stoked!!!

PS LOST BOARDS ARE IN THE WORKS!!!!!! Get your custom orders in NOW!!!

Happy New Year!!

Bruins at Fenway

Well folks, Happy New Year!!! Twenty Ten is off to a good start. Waves yesterday, waves today, some fresh snow, and more on the way. Steve just got in from what he called a "fun session". The wind is blowing steady out of the NNW and will do so all day. Tomorrow's wave situation looks RAD. There is a big low that is currently cruising up toward Nova Scotia and it is going to do something we pretty much NEVER see (check it out below). It is going to stall and actually start backing into the gulf of Maine and bringing with it some really good waves. In the words of the guru "solid head high ground swell and blizzard conditions" which means windy, cold, and snowy...
