So simple, so fun... just push. Sean Cronan photo
I love this weather!!! It's so nice to pop out of bed and just get blasted in the face with sunlight! I skated last night for a bit after work and managed to slam pretty hard more than once. I was feeling pretty stiff this morning and figured the only way to loosen up was to jump back on the skate and go for a coffee cruise to KB's. After 15 years of riding a skateboard it still amazes me how fun skateboarding really is. On my mini skate mission this morning I was popping little ollies over rocks and man hole covers, slashing curbs, power sliding through the sand, and manualing the shadows casted by the houses in the early morning light. It's so simple, it's so fun. No waiting on waves, or wind, or snow. Just throw the board on the pavement and push. It's hard to explain, but once you know the feeling it's one you'll never forget.
Four wheels to freedom... It's the absolute truth!
David Gravette, tranny killer, rail beast. Nominated for skater of the year and here is why...
My recommendation is to full screen this video and turn the volume UP! This kid is a skateboarder... kick flip to nose grab foot plant to fakie on the dinosaur...
I also need to ask for a little help here today. The Pioneers soccer team had a stellar second session and the third one starts tonight. We lost a few of our female players and are in need of at least one replacement. We are looking for someone with a little experience to play the next 8 or 9 wednesday nights in a row. If your interested email, facebook, or call us at the shop. If you don't play but know someone who might be interested let them know! We're hoping for another 8 and 0 session!
There have been a lot of hungry folks creeping in the shop looking to get their paws all over some new Lost foam. Unfortunately they aren't in just yet. I spoke to Steve at Lost last week and the word is half of our boards have been glassed and are waiting to be packed and shipped. I am not sure exactly what's coming but I have a pretty good feeling we can expect to see some Lost/Firewire Stealths and Scorchers and some Poly Rockets, Squash Its, Motivators, and some Planks. Nothing is definite and only Lost knows what is really going to show up but hopefully thay get here soon. Steve and I are both really stoked on what Lost has going on this year.
I need to get Motivated!
Our good buddy Brian from Folsom Sugar House just dropped by with some fresh maple sugar candies. Brian has been collecting sap since mid February and cooking it down to some real NH amber gold. Brian opens his sugar house up to the public on the weekends this time of year and I know from experience that this is a great thing to do on a lazy Sunday. Check the website HERE, print out some directions, and go check out the process! Buy some syrup and tell him Pioneers sent you!
Enjoy the day and look for a surf forecast from Steve in the next few day! The weed is claiming 18.5 feet at 9 seconds, I hope you can hold your breath!
