SKATE CAT!!!!

The Skate Cat at the New Combi Bowl by Eric Santos. Eric is a skating cat who always lands on his board. We love the art work and would be stoked to post more of it if anyone has some they would like to share.

Six weeks later and the LEAK continues... More than likely the leak will flow until August, they're already calling it the 'worst US environmental disaster' ever. I wonder what it will be called in 2 months? It is going to be pretty interesting to see what happens when the first big hurricane of the year rips through the gulf... I am also wondering how long BP will be able to keep the oil from making its way into the gulf stream current? At the very least this is another reason to stop focusing on new ways to get oil out of the ground and to start investing in wind farms, solar farms, and other ways of producing clean energy. I read an article about a few scientists who are attempting to recreate photosynthesis in a way of using carbon dioxide and the Sun's energy to produce an ethanol. How amazing would that be? The possibilities are endless but with big oil companies and the government holding hands it's gonna take us a long time to get there...

Castles In The Sky, the sequel to Sipping Jetstreams, isn't just a film, a book or an article in a magazine...it's a movement.

You a see a photo in a book. You scour the coastline on a map. You hear stories from other travelers. And now you just have to find out for yourself. It begins with a dream. A vision seeded in your mind. But the next step is the one that counts. The first step. Onto the plane. Into the sky. From that moment on, the journey takes on a life of its own. You step off the plane and into the jetstream of travel.

A few years back, Taylor Steele and Dustin Humphrey explored this concept in their film/book collaboration
Sipping Jetstreams, discovering how new veins of travel enhance the experience of riding waves. For Castles In The Sky, Taylor Steele pioneered new coastlines on every corner of the globe, dived into the cultural stew of global exploration and brought it all to life through a visual whirlwind of inspiration.

Dane Reynolds in Iceland. Rob Machado in Peru. Dave Rastovich in India. Jordy Smith in Africa. These are just a few of the adventures forming Castles In The Sky. The adventures are now here, in New York for a World Premiere on May 4th at the Tribeca Cinemas. Come and take your own first steps into the unknown.
Video premiers this week in NYC and will be in the shop on DVD soon, I'll keep you posted.

You know I love good blogs, and I just found this one that is pretty close to home. Check out Maine Skateboarding for a good time. Just posted is an interview with Maine local and one of my favorite skaters, Dan Drehobl. It's all things Maine and Skate. Check it out!
