Still Surfing

Wardo at Haleiwa Yesterday

Yo Pioneers!!! Surprisingly the surf is still really really fun!!! The buoys are still reading 4+ feet at 11 seconds. If you're surfing an exposed beach break that means there are some head high sets still making their way in. Today is day 11 of good surf! Hopefully it will continue into tomorrow! My session this morning was a blast. Surfed with a couple of the boys at a little right that takes just the right amount of everything to be fun, and fun it was.

The Reef Pro is back on and the level of surfing from DAY ONE was AMAZING. The Clash of the Legends heat between Occy, Curren, Sunny Garcia, and Tom Carrol was ALL TIME! The video is below, make sure you watch it! (the song choice is terrible turn your own music on for that video) I've also posted the daily highlights too. Click HERE to get yourself to the live webcast. The legends will be surfing again today so make sure to tune in for that heat.

Just grabbed this first hand video of the Chief from Fuel TV. Jamie has been and still is a dominant force in skateboarding. He rips when on board and knows a thing or two about running a skateboard company. Jamie Thomas.... THE CHEIF!!!!!

Just found this great article by Laura Austin the really encompasses just how stoked about snowboarding... People’s early season enthusiasm will never fail to amaze me. To wake up hungover from the night before, drive 2 hours to get to the mountain, pay $50 for a lift ticket, which allows you to ride a few trails of man made snow, for just a couple runs, and wait in a 30 minute lift line every time might seem absurd to your average Joe. But it seems like people will go through hell and back just to get their first turns of the season in, especially on the east coast. Killington Resort’s opening day was Novemeber 2nd, so last weekend a few friends and I drove from Burlington, VT to Killington not knowing what to expect. From the bottom of the mountain things looked questionable, but as you took the gondola up you could see the section of the mountain with 6 rideable trails. Sure you were waiting in line for the lift three times as long as you actually got to spend riding. But people didn’t seem to mind, they had a live DJ, and a grill going with food for sale to make that wait not so bad. Plus it is the beginning of November, the conditions were surprisingly good, and you are already on your snowboard. Hard to complain. Check all the photos from day one HERE.
