The time has come Mr. Knox, you've had a good run sir but the run is over. It's been over... Time to bow out gracefully with your head held high and your dignity in place or be subjected to further backside aerial scalpings by the likes of Gabriel Mendina!
Mr. Knox I do not argue that you are a LEGEND, nor do I argue that you have one of the best frontside hacks of all time. However, when your heat totals from round 1 and round 2 combined wouldn't get you out of a heat I would argue your competitive career is done. The conditions were perfect, you couldn't have asked for better "power surfing" waves, the judges were scoring power surfing maneuvers over aerial maneuvers yet you just couldn't put it together.
Don't go away, just stop trying to keep up! Like I said before, you are a LEGEND, so surf like one in the legends division. You're a great competitor, lend your knowledge to the youth and coach them, train them to beat Kelly, make them legends like you. Go surf big waves, chase storms, hunt the pit, you've earned all those things!

If he was washed up and done he wouldn't have re-qualified for the tour, give him a few more events before passing judgement.
