Scratching the Surface

Maybe it's to early to call this but little waves for the weekend??? Small wind swell on the way to hopefully give us some love for late Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday and maybe the rest of the week. I would be stoked, anyone else? I would also be stoked to see some tropical activity happening down south but after looking at the satellite imagery it's safe to say there's not a whole lot to be stoked about. It has to start soon right? A year ago today the tropical wave that would later become Bill was just pushing off the western shores of Africa. The swell it produced arrived 10 days later and packed quite a punch. Shortly after a few more storms lined up and gave us a hell of a run! Let's hope we can get it going again!

Not since the Modern Collective premiered have I been this amped to see a surf video. Scratching the Surface, the new surf film featuring the talent of Julian Wilson is on the way and it looks good. Julian owned the expression session at the US Open, this year. He blasted a huge frontside air reverse, stomped it, and the shot through the pier. Check out the trailer and see for yourself. This is one for the collection.

Kyle Berard, always been a fan of this guys style. East coast ripper all the way!

I know I'm a little late on this post but the Maloof Money Cup O.C. edition went down this past weekend. Cole did it again. 200k in under 3 months. Could he repeat skater of the year???

You've probably seen her art around town, you might have seen her in the line-up, and today you're seeing her on the blog. Hannah Vokey is an amazing artists who specializes in painting surf, skate, and snowboard art. She's a good surfer and the proud new owner of a Lost Motivator. She just painted an insane photo of a skater from the dogtown days. She has a site that showcases her work tat you can view HERE. Keep her in mind if you ever need some artwork done!!!
