NH's Best Selection of Walden Surfboards at PIONEERS!

White Room, White Mountains, Getting Some. p. VAN

Jumped in the VAN for what was probably the last lift access powder trip of the year this weekend. Most people thought it was a fool's errand but we knew better. I can ramble about how good it was for 20 minutes or you can check the photo above and see for yourself. The Washington Valley is it's own climate, it plays by it's own rules. Those rules don't include spring time, it's still full on winter up in the Whites right now. If you don't mind hunting it out you too can still make turns like these. Don't be scared, make your way to Wildcat and see for yourself! All of the 2010/2011 snow gear is on sale, stop in for THE DEAL!!!!

Walden longboard surf boards are legendary. Steve Walden is a master craftsman and his designs are staples in the surf industry. The unbelievable Magic Model was developed nearly thirty years ago and remains one of the most widely distributed and popular Longboards ever designed. When Steve designed the first board in 1981 it was deemed "Magic" by everyone that tried it and the legacy began.

9'2 Magic Model in Traditional Poly

From a distance the board looks fairly conventional but as soon as you grab the rail, you know this is not a conventional board! From the nose the rail is tucked and blends into a rail chine all the way back to a hard release off the tail. The concave on the bottom is set from single, to double combined with a generous vee that you can feel when you initiate a turn on these boards. These features are blended to create an acceleration and release that feels like no other design. And the Magic Model accelerates with only the slightest pump.

Remarkably stable, anyone can ride the Magic Model, from beginners in knee high dribblers to professional contestants in heavy conditions (and they do). One of the design features that allow this amazing versatility is the moderate template combined with a highly defined tucked rail chine. The board is stable, yet when you get on it, whether you are pumping down the line or jamming a cutback, the board will instantly respond. You've got to love it! Did we mention that it noserides incredibly? It's a one board quiver that does EVERYTHING well!

9'0 Mega Magic in high performance SLX Epoxy

Steve's Mega Magic design features the Magic bottom contours and rocker profiles that both accelerate and cut back incredibly. Then he took the design further by adding core volume while blending a chined performance Magic rail. The result is the unbelievable ability to take 12"" to 18"" off your Longboard, without a loss of float or stability. The step rail and extra volume allows the board to float like a much longer board. Catch any wave you want, rip it to shreds and finish off with a noseride for the crowd. This board has massive volume packed into a short package and that allows for much tighter cutbacks, with no loss of speed, noseriding or planning ability.

7'6 Mini Magic in X2 Epoxy

The MINI MAGIC was designed for two groups of surfers asking for the same Magic board! One group of Magic Model Longboard riders wanted to try the Magic rails and bottom design in a smaller size range as they rounded out their quivers with smaller performance funshapes. The other group of Magic Model riders were smaller surfers and women that needed a narrower/shorter performance shape. Steve was only too happy to help them out and the Mini Magic was born!

We're 14 days away from Bells. You gotta win it to ring it, who will it be this year. I'm studying the field and choosing the fantasy team wisely, hope you're doing the same. I'll definitely be posting more about this as we get closer to the event!
