Surfboard Rentals from Pioneers in NH

STOKED!!!!

I can't believe summer is finally here! It's hot, the sun is shining, and I'm surfing without a HOOD!!! Usually the transition from spring to summer is punctuated with tons of little signs that let you know summer isn't really that far away. Due to the rain I'm on overload from all the signs of summer that are just starting to hit now. Struggling to find a parking spot and then having to pay for it, stopping to let people cross the street at the Beach Plum, constantly restocking the sunglass and sandal racks, fielding questions about board rentals and surf lessons, the bait fish are back, switching to cool water wax, after work surf sessions!!! The list goes on and on but it started this weekend rather than 3 weeks ago which I had a problem until summer got here. Now that it's here I just want to get out there and enjoy it.

This is our ANTHEM

Marc Daft if you're out there you'll be hating me for posting this, but it's summer time and !!!!Everybody at the Beach!!!!

We're ready for summer! The rental boards are out and the sale tent is back!

We've got our rental fleet lined up for the summer and we're happy to be offering the full line up of GSI Gnaraloo surfboards fro 6'0 to 8'4! These boards are THE BEST boards to learn to surf on! They have tons of float which means you'll catch tons of waves and they are designed for beginners! They also make a great family board that anyone can use. The wider models even have handles built into them so they're easy to carry to and from the beach! Board rental prices are just $20 a day and wetsuits are $10. We offer multiple day rentals which means you can keep the boards overnight so you get those spectacular sunrise and sunset sessions!

GEAR FOR DAYZ!!!

The shop is literally busting at the seams with all the good we have on offer! We've got EVERYTHING you need to get in the water and EVERYTHING you need to get rolling on four wheels. We just received a huge VOLCOM order and our pants, trunks, and shorts selection cannot be beat! We've got over 500 pairs of skate shoes on offer and about 250 pairs of sandals.
We really do have it all!

It sucks to have to bring this up but it's something to I want to remind you about after talking with our friend Jonathan. Surfboards do and will get stolen if you are careless with them, Jon will back me on this. Every board has a serial number on it somewhere and it's super important to have that number copied down somewhere so in the event your board is stolen and recovered you will be able to retrieve it. It probably will never happen to you but just in case....

Remember at Pioneers we're not selling a lifestyle, WE'RE FEEDING AN ADDICTION!!!! I'll be feeding mine at sunrise, come surf with me!

Pioneers in NH is your source for Skateboarding and Stoke!!!

First off, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Our Flatbread Fund Raiser was a HUGE SUCCESS, we raised over $4,500 dollars through the sale of BRICKS, pizza, and raffle tickets! Todo Bien rocked the house and we saws TONS of familiar faces and they were buying BRICKS! It was so awesome and again we can't thank everyone that came out enough.

Go to KB's and win this board!!!

We've still got some work to do to reach our goal but after last night we're closer than ever. We still need to sell some more bricks so if you'd like to donate or know someone who would please know that now is the time! Remember brick prices start at $100 dollars, they are TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and your engraved brick will be used in the construction of the concrete bowl! Click HERE for the BRICK order form. The Aloha Bean Raffle went well last night but there are still some tickets available. The board and tickets are now at KB's Bagel Shop on Kings Highway between 7th and 8th street. Only 25 tickets available at $25 a piece which means you've got a pretty good chance a scoring a really nice new board!

Oakley Frogskin Selection is ON POINT!!!

Lots of Ripcurl Tide Watches back in stock! Sizes and Colors for everyone!

In other news the dudes who surf Shipsterns Bluff are out of their minds... Biggest Shipsterns ever surfed this past Tuesday. Absolutely mental...

Click HERE to get to the video

And remember this is the life we all lead...

Super fun waves again this morning, I hope everyone got a chance to get out to grab a few. Long range forecast is still looking really solid for the weekend and beginning of next week. All we can hope for now is that the sun stays out.

Donald Takayama Hawaiian Pro Design and Stretch Surfboards at Pioneers in NH, MA, ME

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT!!!

It's no secret that we're on the hustle to scrape together some money to fund the construction of a killer concrete bowl in Hampton. Thus far we've had car washes, hosted the B-Ball Shoot out, and sold some baked goods! We're doing well with the fundraising effort but tonight is the night we expect to really RALLY. We're going to be PARTYING at THE FLATBREAD PIZZA COMPANY in AMESBURY, MA from 5-10pm. It's gonna be AWESOME!!!! Live music from everyones favorite NH group, TODO BIEN, a 50/50 raffle, we've got a 6'0 Aloha Bean we'll be raffling off, and we'll be selling BRICKS!!! As you can see there will be lots happening and EVERYONE is going to be there!!! Flatbread will be donating $$ from every pie bought so make sure you come HUNGRY.

After you purchase your BRICK you'll be given a sticker just like this one to wear around for the night so that everyone knows you're DOWN FOR THE CAUSE!!!! In case you need a reminder what buying a brick for the skatepark is all about check it HERE!

This is the board that will be up for raffle tonight! It's a 6'0 Aloha Bean. It has carbon fiber rails and is stringerless! It's the type of board you can surf in any kind of wave! There will be 25 raffle tickets available at $25 a piece which means you have a pretty good chance at winning this beauty. Every cent raised through this raffle will go directly to the skatepark. Our good buddy Ed at GLOBAL SURF INDUSTRIES is down for the cause and hooked us up with this board at no charge! What a guy!

In other news.... WE HAVE WAVES THIS MORNING!!! And I'm not talking about knee high slop waves like the past two weeks, I'm talking about chest high sets and relatively clean too! I was so stoked to surf that I was in the water at 5:30 this morning. I surfed for 3 hours and got tons of waves. I'm in love with my new PLACEBO ROCKET and I'm pretty sure I did the best turn of my life today on it. In my head I looked like a goofy footed Joel Parkinson out there for a split second! I'm confident that Joel would agree!

We had a late arrival yesterday and 6 beautiful STRETCH F4s showed up as well as 6 Hawaiian Pro longboards from the Legendary Donald Takayama.

First up is the In The Pink model from Takayama. This board features a 2 + 1 fin set up with a 60/40 rail. With a harder rail by the tail this board will really turn but through it's design will nose ride with the best of them. The In The Pink is one of the most well rounded longboards on the planet! In addition to the In The Pink we also got a really nice 9'2 DT-2 and an 8'6 Scorpion.

Now here is the Stretch F4. The design of the nose and tail is fuller which straightens out the mid-section, thus inducing speed. The fuller template also affords riders to go about 2″ shorter than their normal short board. The 4 fin configuration is such that it rides like a tri-fin yet produces even more drive and acceleration. A “fishy” feel that surfs off the tail; this design is quick turning, ultra-responsive, and fast! From small beach breaks to Tahitian death tubes to monster Mavericks, Nathan, as well as many other team riders, are riding this design in any size, in any condition, and in any location! We've got them in sizes 6'0, 6'2, 6'4, 6'8, 7'0, and 7'6 in all white, they all come with a bag and fins at a great price.

Both the weather and the wave forecasts have potential! Keep the stoke ALIVE and we'll see you tonight!!!

Pro Tec Pool Party 2011 Results

EPIC!!!! NOLAN MONROE, NH RIPPER AND PIONEERS TEAM RIDER OWNING IT!!!!
Full highlight reel of Nolan and all the other boys HERE!!

Well as usual it just gets better and better every year! With Bucky out of the contest this year it was anyones win for the taking. Pedro, hot off his win from the Bowl-A-Rama, came in hot this year and clinched the top spot!

Pro Division
1. Pedro Barros
2. Rune Glifberg
3. Andy MacDonald
4. Nolan Monroe (Pioneers Team Rider)
5. Alex Perelson
6. Omar Hassan
7. Steven Pineire
8. Mike Owen
9. Sky Siljeg
10. Sandro Diaz

The Master's Division was just as rocking as the Pro. After Cab broke Miller's 5 year win streak last year, Miller came back hard to take the title back! It was really cool to see the Bird Man back at it throwing 5s and reminiscing the old lines of the upland bowl.

Master Division
1. Chris Miller
2. Steve Caballero
3. Lance Mountain
4. Tony Hawk
5. Eric nash
6. Duane Peters
7. Sergie Ventura

Still not sure what happened in the Best Trick contest but as soon as I find out I'll post it up right here! Can't wait to for Nolan to get back to the NH so we can give him a hero's welcome.

Vans Chukka Lows @ Pioneers in NH

The final day of the Billabong Rio Pro is LIVE right HERE in two-to-four foot (1 metre) waves at Barra da Tijuca and today’s action will begin with Round 5 and eventually crown a champion by day’s end. After some massive upsets in round 3 and 4 the boys remaining are onto the quarters. Slater, Jordy, and Mick all went down early leaving the door open for some changes on the leader board. I'm thinking we'll see a Taj v.s. Adriano fianl today even though Adriano just took out Owen Wright in a not so clear cut win. Adriano received an excellent score for a one maneuver wave and Owen surfed a great wave right at the buzzer falling a tenth of a point shy of Adriano. Owen was very gracious in his defeat but clearly stated his point in the after heat interview. It was really close but have a look at the heat highlights HERE and make your own opinion.

Pioneers is VERY WELL STOCKED with VANS CHUKKA LOWS!!!! Get after em'.

The Pro-Tec Pool Party is pretty much the most prestigious skateboard contest going. Win here and your pretty much a legend FOREVER!!! Our boy NOLAN MONROE placed 5th last year and we have high hopes for a top 3 finish for the young gun this year! There is some big news just out, Bucky Lasek is out with a serious ankle break but stepping in to fill the void.... legendary Tony Hawk.

Tony has never competed at the bowl and it will be cool to see the birdman back at it. The big question will be does Tony have what it takes to keep up with the young guns of skateboarding??? "I've been wanting to skate the Pro-tec event for a while, but I was either out of town or hurt over the last few years. To me, the Pool Party event symbolizes how far skating has come, where legends and modern skaters ride together in an iconic pool. Just hoping I can still do my Upland lines..." Live webcast of the whole contest tomorrow right HERE starting at 6pm.

Don't forget!!!! Tuesday, Flatbread Pizza Company in Amesbury from 5-10!!!!
SUPPORT!!!!!

I'm not sure how much longer I can take this weather!!!! At least we got some little messy waves in the water today and some cleaner knee high ones for tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Lost Placebo Rockets at Pioneers in NH

The Friends of Hampton Skateboard Park are have been on the grind lately turning an idea into a reality. We started with the idea of fixing up the big mini and maybe doing a little concrete work around the park. The more we started talking and thinking about it the more we realized we need some REAL concrete at the park in the form of a bowl. Through some discussions and shared ideas the concrete bowl is officially happening! Many of us have been working in conjunction with the town of Hampton and there are two things left to do. One, raise some money and two, build the damn thing! So here is where WE, the skaters and families of the Seacoast, need your help!

We need your support in our "BUY A BRICK" fundraiser! Our concept is a simple one, sell some bricks and use them in the construction of the park while using the proceeds to fund the bowl construction. Bricks prices start at $100 and every brick comes with custom engraving included. All the info you need to help us out is right HERE and it important to note that your brick, your contribution to skateboarding, is tax deductible! The attached link is a PDF file that can be printed, filled out, and sent to the town of Hampton along with a check. You can also swing by the shop, fill out an order form here, and we'll deliver it to the town along with your check.

We also need to rally for the benefit event that The Flatbread Pizza Company will be graciously hosting for us on Tuesday, the 24th from 5-10pm in Amesbury, MA. This is going to be a banner night for the skateboard park so please come and support. Todo Bien will be performing LIVE, we'll be selling bricks, we'll be conducting a 50/50 raffle and we'll be having FUN!!! Please share all this info with your friends and family and remember we can't do this without YOU!

You'll never believe this but I got a new surfboard the other day... surprising right? Anyways I picked up a 5'11 Lost/Placebo Rocket and it's AWESOME!!! Both Steve and his brother Paul are riding them and I think they used the phrase "it's cheating" enough that I just had to get my hands on one and I'm gonna agree riding a rocket is cheating. They are constructed out of a super durable yet flexible epoxy and with the 5 fin set-up you get the option of riding it as a quad or a thruster. Fast, loose, and fun this board will work in small to head high waves for sure! I got one day on it as a thruster and one day as a quad! I can't wait till the surf picks up a little more so I can get on it again. The trend for surfboard shapes is shorter and wider and once you try one of these Rockets (or motivators, sub-schorchers, black sheeps, etc) you'll understand why.

The ASP Tour is in action right now, RIGHT HERE. Round one of the men's competition is in the water right now in tropical Brazil. The waves are looking fun and the boys are getting after it! Round one is wrapping up shortly but it sounds like they will be back at it again tomorrow, check it! The ladies surfed earlier this week and Carissa Moore and Sally Fitzgibbons continued their reign of dominance! Carissa has now won 3 of the five events and Sally is right behind her with 2. That's crazy!!! Check out the highlights form the final below.

Board Rider Art has these two awesome paintings for sale here at the shop and both of them benefit the Molly Rowlee Foundation. Swing through, check them out, and make an offer. No amount is too small!

Largest Selection of FCS fins in NH at Pioneers!!!

Well gang after a week of not blogging I'm not really sure where to begin today. There has been lots and lots going on. The surf has been SUPER fun and the Hampton mini has been rescued from a death sentence. There have been two ASP women's events and a a 6 star prime at Trestles. At the shop we've been getting delivery after deliver of insane summer gear, skate product, and surf stuff.

My last blog started off with snowboarding but I think we'll kick this one off with what we have going on at the Hampton Skateboard Park. Last weekend we hit it HARD and thanks to the work of many we were able to completely rebuild the decks and reset the coping. This Saturday we cut out all the bad sections of skate-lite and replaced it with nice new pieces. The mini honestly looks like a new ramp, so stoked we made the call to keep it ALIVE. The VAN was there documenting the whole thing, check it HERE.

Now here comes the big part, we've got to raise some serious $$$ to get the concrete section of the park going. May 24th is going to be a huge day for the park, we're going to be at The Flatbread Company in Amesbury. We'll be slinging pies, selling BRICKS, and hosting a 50/50 raffle! Lots more details to come but please mark your calendar, rally your friends, and keep checking back for more details!

HUGE FCS FIN order came in this week. Our fin selection is better than it has ever been before! Full selection of the UL line, the new H-3s and the long awaited Julian Wilson pro model fin.

Our longboard selection is KILLING IT. Restocked with Loaded and Orangatang, a dozen new boards from Arbor, and as always a solid selection of Sector Nine and Globe.

With the nice weather and warm temps it seems many of you are thinking tank tops, trunks, and flip flops. We're FULLY stocked with all of the above and including these hot ones just in from LOST.

So on the competition front Carissa Moore is pretty much owning it! Thus far there have been four events and she's taken two first place finishes and two second place finishes. She's in command of the leader board and is slowly pulling away from the pack. Check out the highlights HERE from the just finished Beachley Classic from down under.

Finals at the Nike 6.o Trestles contest are on now. Check it all out HERE.

The next big event of the year for both the men and women starts next week in Brazil. Things are looking pretty good, get your fantasy team updated and stay tuned for details. Dane is back on tour at this event, he surfed well at the Nike pro and we should expect some trademark Dane arials in the beach breaks of Rio. Check out webisode 1 here on the Billabong Pro website.

Surf outlook for the next week looks good. Gonna be dealing with some shifty winds but one thing is for sure, we'll have waves. Tons of new boards and rubber in the shop, get after it!
