NH BEACH DAYS ON THE WAY!!!

Hell of a day up north! Can't get enough of the VAN!!!

It's a little after the fact but the Ripcurl Pro at Bells Beach wrapped up this weekend and it was a nail biter. Good mates Mick and Parko pretty much dominated the event and met each other an a gladiator style final! It was EPIC!!! Parko pulled the only 10 of the whole event while facing Mick. Full video highlights can bee seen below. The women's final was pretty kick ass too! Sally Fitzgibbons, as AUSSIE as it gets, won her first ever pro event! The Pioneers fantasy team made a strong showing placing 71st in the women's division and 189th in the men's out of 11,862!

Here are a few observations I've made so far this year;

1. Parko is HUNGRY, he's on target for a World Title!
2. Steph Gilmore has lost her groove. She ditched Ripcurl for Quiksilver's money and it's been downhill ever since. Could the queen's rule over women's surfing be over??? I think so!!! I wonder how Quik feels about betting on a losing pony?
3. I know Taylor Knox has one of the best turns in the World but ol' boys time is up. I believe this will be the last we see of Taylor on the WCT. However, I'm sure we'll see him in the legends division some time in the near future.

From one event to the next, the top ASP women are already surfing again. This time they are in New Zealand at the Taranaki Womens Surf Festival! Steph was defeat in the early rounds and the quarters are happening as I type this. They girls are ripping some clean chest high surf and killing it. My guess for the semis are Tyler vs Carrisa and Sally vs Coco. As far as where we go from there I'm not sure but all the girls are on my fantasy team so it's a win win! Check the LIVE action HERE.

The shop is overflowing with AWESOMENESS right now. Check out the random samplings of photos I've put together below.

Just got a pair of the new DVS INMATE and they are AWESOME!!! Highly recommend checking these out!

Best Selection of VANS footwear in NH!!!

The lone SUPer takes refuge among the thigh high peelers on offer at the Wall as dawn come peaking through... or something like that. It was a really nice morning down at the beach. the waves were small but they were clean and that's better than small and messy. The rest of the week looks to be similar to today, small and clean. If you made it out then good on ya and if not don't sweat it! Huge shout out to all our facebook friends online. A local group said if we could add 500 "likes" to their page they would donate $500 towards the skatepark fundraiser. Thanks to all your support it only to about 16 hours. So in the past week we've raised over 2Gs!!!! STOKED!

New VANS just in to add to our already EPIC selection!!! With close to 50 different VANS to choose from I think it's safe to say that our selection kicks ass! Here are the new goods...

Cardiel Era Pro and Navy/White Era Pro

Chukka Low Massimo Cavedoni/Grey/Red and TNT5 Dark Scarlet/White

Youth Chukka Massimo Cavedoni/Grey/Red and Royal/Mid Grey/Red
Available in youth size 11 through kids size 6.

So the 50 year anniversary BELLS BEACH PRO sponsored by RIPCURL kicked of on Tuesday in pumping surf. Day one saw both the men and women complete rounds 1. Yesterday say the women complete round two in absolute picture perfect Bells while the men wrapped up round two in PUMPING Wink-i-pop. The last minute exchange between Jordy Smith and Adam "ROBO" Robertson had me scream at my computer. They both posted 9s in the dying minutes when it was anyones game. Jordy dropped in did an insane turn, pulled into the barrel, then did four or five text book turns! Robo dropped in, stalled, barrel, shot out, stalled, barrel, shot out, stalled, barrel, shot out, and finished off with a hugh turn! Only one could win and that was Jordy. My wildcard pick for the fantasy team is out but he went out with style.

Another cracker of a heat was the Bobby Martines vs Taj heat. Taj, a huge favorite at the event, was taken down by an inform and aggravated Bobby. Bobby's back side hacks where 50 gallon buckets of water 25 feet in the air!!! The dude layed it all out and came away with the upset and an earned victory! Watch the whole video to get Bobby's perspective. Check it.

So to sum it all up, the waves were AWESOME, the surfers were ripping, and I want to go surf Bells. The fantasy team took a couple of blows by losing Robo and Dusty but I've got confidence that most of the boys left will make it to the semis and quarters. The girls are crushing it. Live action should come back our way around 7pm tonight so check the live feed and day two highlights for the guys and the girls available HERE at Live.Ripcurl.com.

SURFING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And just incase you forgot how good the girls are check this. Can you say Modern Collective ladies edition?????

Just In, Firewire Stealth Surfboards at Pioneers in NH!!!!

Waves were good .... p.GITV

SUCCESS!!! The First Annual Basketball Shoot Out raised $1500 towards the new concrete bowl being built in Hampton!!! We haven't reached our goal yet but we are one step closer! A huge thanks goes out to all the folks that donated their time and energy to such a worthy cause. it could not have happened without you. The next big community effort is going to be at the Flatbread Pizza Company in Amesbury, MA on MAY 24th. A portion of each pizza sold that night will be donated to the concrete cause! Mark your calendar and be prepared to eat some pie! More info to follow as more events unfold!

For Whom the Bell Tolls is hands down one of the best MetallicA songs ever!!! The reason I bring this up is the 50th Ripcurl Pro at Bells Beach is about to kick off and I'm wondering for whom the bell will toll this year???? Slater is all in, he's going for 11 no doubt. Parko wants it bad, Robo won the trials and wants another shot, the rookies are frothing, and that's just the men! I don't really know what to expect but I got my hunches. The wave forecast looks epic and I think we'll see things start off with a BANG!!! I personally can't wait to see Tyler Wright and Carissa Moore back at it, those girls are going to shred the sh*t out of Bells!!! All the action is HERE and things should be starting TONIGHT as in pretty damn soon on Monday evening!

My men's fantasy team is as follows; Slater, Jordy, Parko, Wright, Payne, Robo, Wilson, and WILKO!

The lady line up; Steph, Wright, Ho, Moore, and Woods.

As you're watching Bells tonight and you're starting to get inspired let me suggest one of my personal favorites.... the Firewire / Lost STEALTH – A "short board that surfs like theRocket" a high performance hybrid secret weapon!!! The combination of extreme tail rocker and deep concave provides lift and unparalleled turning radius.. Comes standard as a 5 fin “Convertible Quiver Killer”. Ride approx 4" longer than a Rocket, or 2" shorter than a high performance short board.

NH's Best Selection of Walden Surfboards at PIONEERS!

White Room, White Mountains, Getting Some. p. VAN

Jumped in the VAN for what was probably the last lift access powder trip of the year this weekend. Most people thought it was a fool's errand but we knew better. I can ramble about how good it was for 20 minutes or you can check the photo above and see for yourself. The Washington Valley is it's own climate, it plays by it's own rules. Those rules don't include spring time, it's still full on winter up in the Whites right now. If you don't mind hunting it out you too can still make turns like these. Don't be scared, make your way to Wildcat and see for yourself! All of the 2010/2011 snow gear is on sale, stop in for THE DEAL!!!!

Walden longboard surf boards are legendary. Steve Walden is a master craftsman and his designs are staples in the surf industry. The unbelievable Magic Model was developed nearly thirty years ago and remains one of the most widely distributed and popular Longboards ever designed. When Steve designed the first board in 1981 it was deemed "Magic" by everyone that tried it and the legacy began.

9'2 Magic Model in Traditional Poly

From a distance the board looks fairly conventional but as soon as you grab the rail, you know this is not a conventional board! From the nose the rail is tucked and blends into a rail chine all the way back to a hard release off the tail. The concave on the bottom is set from single, to double combined with a generous vee that you can feel when you initiate a turn on these boards. These features are blended to create an acceleration and release that feels like no other design. And the Magic Model accelerates with only the slightest pump.

Remarkably stable, anyone can ride the Magic Model, from beginners in knee high dribblers to professional contestants in heavy conditions (and they do). One of the design features that allow this amazing versatility is the moderate template combined with a highly defined tucked rail chine. The board is stable, yet when you get on it, whether you are pumping down the line or jamming a cutback, the board will instantly respond. You've got to love it! Did we mention that it noserides incredibly? It's a one board quiver that does EVERYTHING well!

9'0 Mega Magic in high performance SLX Epoxy

Steve's Mega Magic design features the Magic bottom contours and rocker profiles that both accelerate and cut back incredibly. Then he took the design further by adding core volume while blending a chined performance Magic rail. The result is the unbelievable ability to take 12"" to 18"" off your Longboard, without a loss of float or stability. The step rail and extra volume allows the board to float like a much longer board. Catch any wave you want, rip it to shreds and finish off with a noseride for the crowd. This board has massive volume packed into a short package and that allows for much tighter cutbacks, with no loss of speed, noseriding or planning ability.

7'6 Mini Magic in X2 Epoxy

The MINI MAGIC was designed for two groups of surfers asking for the same Magic board! One group of Magic Model Longboard riders wanted to try the Magic rails and bottom design in a smaller size range as they rounded out their quivers with smaller performance funshapes. The other group of Magic Model riders were smaller surfers and women that needed a narrower/shorter performance shape. Steve was only too happy to help them out and the Mini Magic was born!

We're 14 days away from Bells. You gotta win it to ring it, who will it be this year. I'm studying the field and choosing the fantasy team wisely, hope you're doing the same. I'll definitely be posting more about this as we get closer to the event!

Oakley Acid Frogskins in NH

Surfing!!!!!!! Plenty of fun left overs this morning! I missed yesterday afternoon but I heard good things from everyone who made it into the water. I was so stoked on the surf this morning that I surfed 3 different spots in 3 different towns all within 3 hours! I wish I could say I surfed 3 different boards too but I'd be lying. Maybe next time. The tides backing out and there are still some super fun looking waves. It's fading so get on is ASAP!
