Best Summer Session EVER

Everyone in a while something good happens to you and it makes it all worth it. Even though this swell was a little over hyped and it showed up later then expected it has still been amazing. 5 feet at 16 seconds is beyond epic and with water temps near 70 we have nothing to complain about. My Sunday night session was all time, yesterday morning was so fun, but oh man today's session... today's session is one I will NEVER EVER FORGET. Now I can't really say to much here but I'm gonna tell you the waves were fun as hell, fast and hollow in fact but it was what was happening all around me that made this morning one to remember!!! If you catch me with a few extra minutes ask me about it, until then that's all I'm saying. SURFING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So if you got a chance to tune into the Billabong Pro in Tahiti yesterday then you know that they got some really good surf going on too. It's not epic all time Teahupoo but it still looks really really fun. Lots of good barrels and some of the young surfers are blasting airs! Jordy is doing this crazy move he calls the froger, it is a double grab one footed air. Crazy. The contest only has a few days left in the waiting period so they are really going hurry things along today and tomorrow. The field is already half way through the second round and I'll bet they complete the 3rd one this afternoon. Check out the highlights video below and tune in HERE to watch the action LIVE!!!!!!!<

IT"S HERE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET ONE PONY BOY

4.2 ft @ 16 seconds.... GO SURFING!!!!!!!!!!!!

One Session or Two????

p. Ralph

Well I think we can all agree Danielle sure took her sweet time to give us some waves. Her highly anticipated swells that were forecasted to arrive Saturday morning finally really started to show yesterday afternoon/evening. While most of you were probably sitting at the beach waiting for the waves to show up, I was sitting behind a desk pulling my hair out because I thought I was missing it. Turns out I really didn't miss anything but lots of folks checking it hard. I made it back to the coast at 6 pm last night and thanks to my buddy I had one hell of a session. Super fun lefts and only two other guys out. Definitely worth the wait and the best way to wash off a long weekend of school.

When I woke up this morning and had a peek at the cams I knew it was still on. I was up and on it early and in my opinion I scored it again. Chest to head high sets and just a few friendly folks out trading waves. This is always my favorite time of the year and it's days like yesterday and today that remind me why. The swell seems to be backing off a little bit now but I am seeing another good little pulse that should fill in tomorrow and give us another round of good ones! We also have to keep an eye on Earl... what is Earl going to do??? Well it's hard to say for sure but it looks like Earl might get pretty close to the coast. That is a bad thing, it causes damage in gives us storm surf instead of hurricane swell. So I'll be keeping an eye on it but at the moment things are looking less than epic.

Steve and I were having a conversation today about what constitutes a session... As an example Steve surfed two different spots this morning. The only thing that separated them was a short walk and a ten minute drive. He never changed out of his wetsuit and was in surf mode the whole time. I on the other hand surfed two different spots but they were separated by a smoothie and a walk with the pup. So did Steve get one session or two? How about me, one or two? So again I ask, what is the definition of a session? My opinion is Steve had one session while I had two. We posted this question on FACEBOOK so think about it and chime in, we would be stoked to hear your opinion.

The Billabong Pro is ON!!!!!!!!!!!! Heat 8 in the water of round 1 right now!!!! Just click HERE and you're in Tahiti!!!!!!!!!! SO EPIC!!!!!!!!

And just a quick reminded to all college students!!! Before you head back to school get a longboard or a cruiser for campus. We have boards starting at $100 and going all the way up to $350 plus. A new ride for school is a must and our selection is INSANE right now. Boards from Sector 9, Arbor, Freedom Dolly, Gravity, Globe, Rayne, and ...Lost. This message is approved by Jon Millstien, College student, RA, Skateboarder!!!!

More surf tomorrow, can't wait to get some!!!!!!!!!!

Think we'll get of this????

Yesterday was one of those days that makes you forget about a summer of small waves. Everybody who walked through the door was grinning ear to ear and had to tell us about the session they just had. We were happy to hear it and to share stories of our own. This morning there were still some fun little waves leftover. I rode THE PLANK and scored some fun ones with my buddy Chance. We both had a great session trading waves and got our far share of "worth it waves". Checking the cams now things are looking pretty small, but we should see some front runners of the Danielle swell starting to show up tomorrow morning at some point. By the end of the day it should be on and stay on through Tuesday at least. Then TS Earl is on the move plus another tropical wave that has just left the west coast of Africa. Things are shaping up!!!!!!!!

Shots from down South courtesy of Danielle.... HERE

We'll be in the shop all weekend slaving away to your surf and back to school needs. We've got a killer line up of boards and wetsuits and our back to school gear selection is on point!!!

If you've got any question or you're looking for the surf report call us @ 603-964-7714.

Enjoy the weekend and we'll see you in the surf!!!!!!

Wounded Warriors Tomorrow!!!

P. GITV

SURFING!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW what a day. From cool Nor'Easter conditions back to summer overnight. Waves were and still are super fun. Light offshore breezes are keeping it clean all day. I surfed last night right after work and there were some BOMBS coming it. I got a good pummeling and it felt o so good. I swear I still have seaweed suck in my ear from it. So good waves the rest of today and some fun leftovers tomorrow. Definitely bring your longboard or fish to the beach tomorrow because it looking to be in the knee to thigh range. We'll be at the beach all day hanging with the Wounded Warriors trying to give a little back to a few that have given so much. If you wanna swing by, cheer some folks on and give some thanks meet us at 18th street between 9 and 3pm!!!

Just got the new copy of skateboarding at the shop and the Dylan Rieder promo video from Gravis was packed in it. Steve tossed it in the DVD player and both of our jaws hit the floor as we watched it. Impossible tail grab down a man sized gap, really??? Luckily they have the promo posted online so do yourself a favor and click play below... Skater of the year??? I think it could be this guy!

Like Dylan is a beast on land Dane is a beast in the sea....

And if you want to see some more air check out the Kustom Airstrike page. $50,000 to the best trick. Chippa just put up a good one and but Flynn Novack's backflip is still my favorite. Check them all out HERE!

SURFING & SKATEBOARDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SURFING & SKATEBOARDING!!!!!!! IT'S GOOD TO BE A PIONEER RIGHT NOW!!!!

Just got into the shop after a really fun surf session. Found a little corner protected by the wind and got a handful of really fun waves. Can't wait for that wind switch and sunrise tomorrow, it's gonna be on! Right after this system pushes out of here Danielle should start firing some sets our way. Looks like Monday and Tuesday are going to be the money days!!! And even better is there is another promising system right behind Danielle that could become Earl which shows potential of tracking our way and giving us another blast of hurricane surf!!! Check the indepth Danielle forcast provided by Swell info here -> Hurricane Danielle Video Bulletin | Surf News | Swellinfo.com. I've also been having a ton of fun skating at the Rye Airfield. I think I might just go over there tonight and get me shred on!!!

We just got a fresh shipment of some of the most sought after longboards on the market today. Rayne Longboards all the way from British Columbia. We got four different models in stock right now and they all look really good. From top to bottom we have the Killswitch, the Hustler, the Hellcat, and the Demonseed. The complete is a Hustler w/ black 10 inch Gullwings, 70mm Abec 11 Grippins, and Builtin abec 7 bearing. It's the nicest longboard in the store!!!
Here's a quick video describing each of the above boards!!!

We also got a huge blast of Volcom yesterday. Tons of awesome hoodies for the ladies and a ton of fresh tees and jeans for the guys. Have a look...

Clear your schedules and get stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOUR WHEELS TO FREEDOM

Moments before the most anticipated heat of the day...

O MAN!!!!! How fun was the Molly event yesterday!!!! I saw so many people and laughed so hard with all of them the whole day. Johnny Grasso stole the show during his heat with the Captain Outfit. I can't wait to see all the photos and hear everyone's account of what went down yesterday. I know the surf contest was intense. There was some serious competition out there yesterday. Lots of leash yanking, pushing, and board stealing. I thought I was going to get a DQ for sure but the judges let it slide. I think in the end Kyle Linesman walked away champion and his nose riding ability earned it! Next Sunday's Palph's Pic of the Week is one I am definitely looking forward to. Can't wait to see the mayhem on film! Oh and by the way those 50 pound logs from the 60s are not an easy ride believe me!!!

Just in today, my new favorite longboard skateboards, FREEDOM DOLLYS!!!!!!!! Unsafe at any speed! These are rideable, renewable forest products. Constructed out of bamboo and laced up with some bent metal trucks these things scream LIB TECHNOLOGIES and that because they are the brains behind this operation!!! You have to swing by and see these boards for yourself, but if you can't make it here are some photos of them.

You're probably on top of this by now but if not we got WAVES, real WAVES. Good little NorEaster brewing right now, a little hurricane know as Danielle and possibly one right on her heals! SURFING!!!!!!!!!!!! Messy today and tomorrow but cleaning up some point wednesday and good all day thursday. Cane swell starts some point on Sunday and should continue for the beginning of next week! As always things can change but right now things are looking pretty good. Stay glued in and wax up your stick!!!!

The 5th stop of the ASP tour started today in Tahiti. Bummer wave though because it started as a layday. Swell should pick up and all systems should be go in a few days. I'll keep you posted but unitl then get a taste of things to come with this video from the trials!!!

The Molly!!!

Tomorrow is the DAY!!! The long awaited Molly Surf Celebration is upon us!!! The Pioneers crew spent their morning at and around 18th street making the stretch of beach sparkle all the way to Bicentennial Park. We picked up tons of trash and swept the sand from the entire handicapped access area at 18th street. Tomorrow is going to be a blast and everyone that showed up this morning is partly responsible for tomorrows fun!!! We had almost 40 people there making this the best clean up ever!!! So pumped, we have the best crew on the seacoast!!!

So back to the Molly, it's going to be awesome!!! AND EVERYONE IS INVITED, SERIOUSLY, EVERYONE!!! Plan for a full day and be prepared for everything and anything!!! Bring your board, bring some food, bring your stoke, and bring some CA$H, because after all this is a FUNDraiser... There will be tons of Molly gear for purchase including custom Molly Oakley Sunglasses!!! Food from BELLA ROSE, Market Basket, and Flatbread! Music from TODO BIEN, Big Handsome Daddy, and Kings Highway. If you have any questions your best resource is going to be MollyRowlee.com.

And while we're talking about Molly I want everyone to take a moment and look at the newest piece on the Get In The Van site that Brian Nevins just completed. It's amazing and I am so impressed. I know how hard this must have been and I can't wait to give Brian a big hug to say thanks for doing this for the Rowlee family and for everyone that knew and now knows Molly. View it HERE and make sure you share it with all your friends and family. Remember to enjoy the little things...

The other thing to remember is that next Friday the Wounded Warriors are hitting the beach! This is one of the best days of the summer. Giving back to people who have given so much is one of the most rewarding thing you can do. If you can make it down be there. If you have questions hit us up and if I can't answer them I will put you in contact with someone who can.

At the shop things are great!!! We're here and we're stoked!!! Back to school is here and we got the best stuff available!!! Tons of deals too!!! Swing by say hi and we'll hook you up!!!

SURF ALL NEXT WEEK, READY FOR THAT NEW LOST BOARD YET???? BECAUSE IT'S TIME!!

Saturday, 7am @ 18th Street!!!

WAHHOOOO for little waves!!!! Rode the 10'0 Stewart today and got some fun ones. Beautiful morning with a rad sunrise. Surfed with a few of the boys early then had a iced coffee at KB's. That is the best way to start off the day!!! SURFING!!!!!!!!!!

Super stoked for the upcoming weekend because we got a Pioneers Beach Sweep this Saturday at 10 and the Molly Surf Celebration on Sunday. If your planning on coming to the Beach Sweep Saturday we're going to meet a little farther North than originally planned. Rather than starting at 10th, we're going to meet at 18th Street. That is where the Molly surf contest will be taking place and I want to make that beach super clean for everybody that makes it out. If you can bring a broom and we'll do our best to get all the butts off the sidewalk. So spread the word, 7am @ 18th Street!!!! Vans water bottles and hats for everyone who makes it out!!!

One of our youngest team riders, Jon McPartland, went to the Volcom Wild in the Parks contest at Skaters Edge in Taunton and absolutely owned IT!!!!!!! First place and a chance to get an invite out to the series final. John is skating in the custom bleached black Pioneers tee. So stoked on this little dude!

The newest and best gear on the planet continues to roll into the shop. Today we received Longboard Wheels form Abec 11 and sector 9. Tons of Zig Zags in pink, lime, lemon, and orange!!! We also got the complete 20 year anniversary skateboard seried from Alien Workshop. Check them out!!!!

Swing by and say HI. Waves all weekend and next week too.

Back to Cool!!!!

This kid means business!!!

Well it's been a few days since my last blog... What can I say, the waves have been really good and the shop has been really busy. Monday and Tuesday where total scores. Head high and firing! It felt so good to get a couple proper thumping!!!! I forgot how good my Lost Stealth surfs, WOW what a board!!! One of my session was with Steve and his The waves right now look really fun, most are in the knee to thigh range and clean. The next few days look to be alot like today and super fun. I'm out at five today and can't wait to get another evening session! The past two have been ones to remember.

You have to admit that a couple of these past few mornings have had a touch of fall in them. Both Steve and I have noticed it and for that reason we have SLOWLY begun the shop transition that takes us from summer to winter. It's no secret that Pioneers is my second home and I am a little bias but that shop looks better now than it ever has before and the selection of gear we have is amazing!!! Steve and I have been moving things around and trimming the fat. We just put a TON of good gear out in the tent on the half off rack. Matix denim, Volcom cords, and Altamont tees are just a few of the deals out there right now. We have longboards (more on the way too from Lost... & Freedom Dolly), UGGs, and flannels coming out of our ears and we're having trouble trying to find places for all the shoes we have in stock right now. We even started unpacking some of our Lib Tech, GNU, and Roxy snowboards and DAMN do they look good. I just ran around the shop and snapped a few photos so you can see what I am talking about so have a look!

Flannels
UGGs Classics for days!!!
Denim, cords, tees & sweaters
Tanks, tees & hats
Longboards and Backpacks, both of which are a must for going back to school
Crazy deals under the Burton tent
2011 Lib Bannanas & Phoenixes, GNU Carbon Credits & B Nice, Roxy Eminence, Allies & Sugars.

This Saturday Pioneers Beach sweep @ THE WALL. Meet at 7am at 10th Street. Our last clean up was one of the best EVER!!! So we gotta keep it up and make this one even better. I still have tons of Vans reusable water bottles and hats for everyone that shows up. If you can bring a friend and a knife, lots of rope that needs cutting!!! The forecast shows a fun little wave too so make sure you bring your board as well. Remember picking up trash early in the morning earns you lots of good karma points and set waves!!!!

Swing by the shop and check it out!!! Moms, Dads, Kids we are stocked for back to school and ready to help you get what you need!!!!!!
